Unless you live in Ireland or the UK, you may not be familiar with M&S Foods.  If you’re not, it pays to spend a moment watching video footage of the unique billboard ad they’ve currently got on display on a variety of screens in Manchester and London.

The ad features a cow named Daisy and mixes actual camera footage with 3D technology to make it appear that Daisy walks up to the center frame of the billboard and appears to try to lick passersby.  It legitimately looks like her tongue is emerging from the billboard which is both unexpected and hilarious!

The ad was developed via a partnership with three different ad agencies (Mindshare, Kinetic and DOOH) and went viral almost immediately, turning Daisy into something of a rock star.

It’s a great ad, and in addition to Daisy, the thing that makes it remarkable is that it’s one of a very few digital billboard ads that incorporates live action footage instead of relying on CGI.  Best of all, even if you don’t have a cow named Daisy, it’s an idea you can adopt for your next ad campaign, no matter what business you’re in.
