Everybody knows that Americans are obsessed with coffee.  Hot coffee, iced coffee, specialty coffee drinks, it doesn’t really matter.  As a country, we run on coffee.  If we don’t have a good amount of caffeine coursing through our collective systems, it’s just not right, right?

Well, a recent Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee billboard played into that brilliantly.

The billboard design itself was pretty simple:  A picture of one of their iced coffee drinks, along with the message “Good Morning.”  Except “Morning” was crossed out and “Whenever” written in its place.

You can’t get much simpler than that, and yet, the message is both powerful and unmistakable.  Even better, Dunkin’s ad campaign was a smashing success that both increased sales of their cold coffee drinks and sparked a great deal of consumer engagement across multiple social media platforms as people shared the image and added their own commentary.  That’s the very definition of advertising success!
