It’s selfies for a good cause! As a part of Endangered Species Day on May 19, outdoor companies across the country partnered with the National Geographic Society to raise awareness of critically endangered animals. The campaign kicked off in Times Square, where people taking selfies with the animal photos were then broadcast on a digital billboard above.
But if you weren’t there to participate, it’s not too late! The campaign is still running on various forms of outdoor media, including billboards, mall kiosks, bus shelters and in subway stations across the country. If you see one of the photos, snap a selfie and share it with your network, including the #SaveTogether tag. You can also upload your photo for display on Nat Geo’s website.
The media campaign features photos of a variety of animals that are on the brink of extinction. It’s meant to bring awareness to the mission of saving them. Photos were taken by National Geographic photographer Joel Sartoe.
In addition to New York, some of the cities featured in the campaign include San Francisco, Chicago and Austin.
