If you see a design like the one above on an Atlanta billboard in the near future, you can thank the sad fans of the New Orleans Saints. Apparently, because they are preparing for another less than stellar year on the gridiron, they feel the need to troll their Atlanta Falcon rivals by rehashing the past that the team would rather forget. The design of course refers to last season’s epic loss in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots, when the Falcons had a 28-3 lead and blew it.
A New Orleans based t-shirt company is collecting funds to put the design on a billboard not only in Atlanta, but also near the stadium in New Orleans, so they also have a reminder close to home. The company will remain nameless on this site, so there’s no free advertising. They already have t-shirts on the market sporting the design.
They hope to raise $2000 for the billboard campaign, saying that anything donated over that amount will go to charity. So far, they are reporting a collection tally of $500. A blog post on the store’s website acknowledges that the billboard would be an epic act of trolling, but says they think it’s hilarious. I guess if you have nothing going on with your own team, then you have to live vicariously though others. As the saying goes, “When you are a THREAT, you are always the TARGET.” Hopefully, Matt Ryan can lead the team to a second chance at the Super Bowl and bring home the win in 2018. Seems like the Falcons have a better shot at a repeat appearance than the Saints have of even making the playoffs, so troll away jealous Saints fans!
