Unless you live in Nigeria, you may be unfamiliar with the Chamdor brand.  It is the best-selling brand of alcohol-free wine in Nigeria and the company prides itself on quality.  All of the grapes used in their product are low-acidity Chenin Blanc and Muscat varieties that hail from the Robertson wine district in South Africa.

The drink that results from this combination is smooth and delightful, with a taste that is more reminiscent of wine than mere grape juice.  It is, in a word, spectacular and the company strives hard to market their drink as an elegant, sophisticated alternative to wine.

The advertising agency Grey Design captured the essence of the brand’s elegance and sophistication in a brilliant way.  Their recent billboard campaign depicts a bottle of Chamdor being opened, and as the cork is popped, in addition to releasing quantities of their delicious drink, images that depict special moments in life from weddings to buying a first home also pour forth.

The message is simple and direct:  Chamdor is there with you.  A central part of your celebrations of those special moments in life.

It proved to be a wildly successful campaign, and one that’s still being talked about in various social media channels, and it cemented Chamdor’s place in the market.

The thing that really makes this campaign work is its reliance on visual storytelling.

If you’ve heard the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words” once, you’ve heard it a thousand times.  Chamdor’s billboards are that concept in action.  No words are needed on the billboard because the striking imagery conveys more than hundreds of words ever could.  It is a fantastic example of the power of well chosen imagery in an ad campaign, and best of all, it’s a concept that can be applied to literally any business.

If you’re struggling to come up with a way to leverage the power of visual storytelling for your brand, we can help with that.  Our advertising professionals are some of the best in the business and we’d love the opportunity to work with you.  Just give our office a call at 770-391-8528 to get started.
