Apple has revived a popular crowd sourcing billboard campaign that they did last year to promote the launch of the Iphone 6. They are using photos taken with Iphones on billboards to show the quality that can come from the tiny camera. This has prompted a huge reaction on social media, which has made this billboard campaign and others possible…companies using not only photos from various social sites, but campaigns using twitter posts have also been done. The campaign is being run in 85 cities and 26 countries. The photos are a mix of amateur images and professional shots, but all are portraits showing many different cultures and ethnicities. The idea of the campaign is to not only to show the quality and sharpness that can come from an Iphone photo, but also to inspire people to begin or continue to take photos and post them to social media with the hope of seeing them on a billboard. No word on whether the campaign will come to Atlanta billboards this time around.
