Sometimes it pays to look to the past to pull ideas into the present.  After all, trends tend to be cyclical and what’s old is eventually, inevitably new again.  That’s certainly the case with this classic billboard ad, which was first launched way back in 2013!

Back then, it took serious computer power to display a graphic of a child pointing up at an actual airplane flying overhead, and announcing it on the billboard (“Look!  It’s Flight BA 475 From Barcelona.”

These days, the computing power required to do that is trivial, which means that the strategy is available to just about anyone.  Even better, all of the technical hurdles associated with an advertising strategy like this were solved long ago, so it’s all upside for you, or anybody else who wants to put this golden oldie back into service.

It’s not hard to envision all sorts of ways you could repurpose the basic idea to serve the needs of, and draw attention to what your brand can do.  Instead of pointing up at the sky, maybe your version will be pointing out at a certain type of vehicle, or with facial recognition, at people who are (or are not) your customers!  The possibilities are literally endless here.
