If that name doesn’t ring a bell, then stores like Cumberland Farms, Turkey Hill, Tom Thumb, and Quik Stop may. All owned by the aforementioned company.
A recent AG America ad campaign sheds light on why they’re growing so quickly. This design is simple but devastatingly effective.
On a hot summer’s day, who doesn’t love a bargain on an ice cold drink, and while the billboard specifically mentioned iced coffee, buyers who stop at one of their stores will quickly discover that the discount applies to any of their fountain drinks, if you’re a member of their rewards program, and that’s where the magic is.
Not only do customers get a great deal, but the company wins in two ways.
First, their billboard is drawing eyeballs and visitors to their stores where impulse purchases are a way of life (gotta get a snack to go with that cold drink, after all!)
Second, since the discount is only available to rewards members, they swell the number of people enrolled in that program, giving them even more opportunities to increase sales.
Simple. Effective. Brilliant, and the great part about their strategy is that anybody can do it, because there’s zero barrier to entry for creating some kind of rewards program.
