A new billboard campaign in New York state aims to eliminate lead poisoning. The “Renovate Right” campaign targets homeowners and tenants who may be revamping a property with pre-1978 lead based paint.  The campaign involves ads on more than 60 billboards throughout the city of Buffalo and Erie County.  The ads will rotate around the area through January, but they began by kicking off “Lead Poisoning Week” back in October.

Billboards are just a part of the marketing campaign, which also includes brochures that will be distributed to local community centers, hardware stores and block clubs.  The campaign was unveiled by Buffalo’s mayor, who was joined by Erie County executives and representatives from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo.  A partnership between the three entities was formed back in May of 2016.

Hopefully, the campaign will expand to other areas of the country and include Atlanta billboards.
